Triple Falcon

When the Leihnard returned from Earth with its cargo of dogs (soon to be Rocket Dogs), almost all Toba were instantly in love with the canines … but were a bit less sure about humans. Looking over the tens of thousands of hours of video, there was obviously a lot to like about humans, but also a lot to dislike. Humans could be generous…but also cruel. They could be intelligent and wise…but also act together in unthinking mobs, banding together to suppress the oddballs, the misfits, and those trying to do great things.

Debate about humans raged through Toba society in the months after the Leihnard arrived …and then someone found, deep in the Leihnard’s archives, video of a SpaceX Falcon Heavy launch …followed by the double first stage booster recovery, minutes later.

The tone of the discussion about humans instantly shifted - not only had humans been good companions to dogs (who all the Toba loved) for millennia, but they now seemed like a species that saw a future for itself among the stars and the planets.

A group of Toba banded together, calling themselves the Toba Human Friendship League, and commissioned the Triple Falcon as a tribute to the humans that they hoped to - someday, far in the future - meet as equals among the stars.
