G5 Cruiser

The G5 Cruiser is based on Toba racing aircars. Some Toba work hard and enjoy the fruits of their labors by collecting rare ceramics. Others take vacations, spending time on the various moons of the Aluza system. …but some Toba are addicted to speed and spend their weekends racing aircars.

When Kainsha and Gogali, the two Toba tasked with pulling together a variety of rockets for the Rocket Dogs, put out a call for participation, they assumed that RaceTech, the preeminent name in racing aircars, would contribute a design. When the deadline for submissions came and went, and RaceTech hadn’t submitted anything, the two Toba approached the engineers there directly and asked why they hadn’t. It turned out it was because of a misunderstanding - RaceTech, which built aircars for racing on Quantum Prime, had assumed that the outer moons did not have universal broadcast power like the Toba home world did - and which the RaceTech aircars depend on.

Kainsha and Gogali explained that no, actually all of the Toba moons had broadcast power just like the home planet. Hearing this, the Race Tech team dropped everything to convert their standard model to fit Rocket Dogs. The scaled-down gleaming alloy G5 Cruiser aircar inspired rocket is much smaller than the ones that Toba use (it’s barely a quarter of a lane wide), but it’s just as fast, which makes it perfect for Rocket Dogs racing.
