Tectonic Burst

The deep caves of Absolute Abyss hold wonders. Beneath the harsh surface there are vast caverns, filled with an entire subterranean ecosystem: glow worms, veevee trees, blind mole-like creatures, small mammals, and more.

All Toba school children learn of subterranean world of Absolute Abyss, but a year or two or three later, many of them have forgotten the details. What’s the pale white tree called? Are there fungi crowing in the caves, or is that some other moon?

…but there’s one detail that none of them ever forget: the origin of the caverns. The giant worms that carve their way slowly through the crust of Absolute Abyss, gnawing rock and leaving pulverized sand in their wake, always blindly questing for one thing: deposits of the rare mineral, Tectonic Burst, that powers their strange biology and, as a side effect, creates a network of caverns. A handful of Tectonic Burst can power a giant worm through a kilometer of hard rock - it is any surprise that it can power a Rocket Dog to victory in a race.
