Collar of Containment

The Toba have long been working in space - mining the various moons of the Aluza system, harvesting comets that loop into and then out of the system, and more - and have developed a wealth of technologies to keep Toba safe and comfortable when working beyond Quantum Prime.

One hazard in space is small fast-moving micrometeorites, which can punch holes in space suits - or in the Toba wearing them! Centuries ago, the Toba Material Handling Phyle developed forcefield technology, which can be used for moving small asteroids in space or mountains of ore on a moon’s surface. Put electricity into a generator, and a forcefield is generated, lifting, or accelerating a load.

…but the forcefield generator can work in reverse, simultaneously slowing a micrometeorite and turning the kinetic energy into useful electricity!

The Collar of Containment is based on this centuries old Toba technology but revamped for a Rocket Dog. Worn around a Rocket Dog’s neck, the collar simultaneously blunts incoming attacks, and powers up the Rocket Dog!
