Cloak of Quantum Superposition

The scientists at Atomo-Dyne study fundamental physics in order to develop better and more powerful rockets …but occasionally their research turns up physical phenomena that aren’t useful for rocket propulsion but can be productized into some other spin off invention (this is how Atomo-Dyne ended up developing the Flash Freeze.)

The Cloak of Quantum Superposition is another such spin off. A research program that was intended to apply quantum location uncertainty to macroscopic objects worked … or at least, it appeared that way at first. To be precise, it appeared that way to one researcher in the lab, but not to the other two. A bit of experimentation and analysis eventually got to the bottom of the matter: the effect was applied only to observers located in certain direction from the object. The hope of using quantum effects to teleport objects from place to place (by making their position indeterminate before collapsing the probability wave and definitively locating the object at the destination) was crushed … but the silver lining in that cloud was a spin off product that made it hard to tell where exactly a Rocket Dog was located.
