Ares' Reticle

Ares’ Reticle, eyewear from the research labs of Torno, are designed and built as personal eyewear for a Rocket Dog but are descended from a long line of much bigger projects. Sharing technology with the sensors on Toba deep space research ships, orbiting telescope satellites, and the Toba equivalent of Coast Guard disaster-and-rescue spaceships, Ares’ Reticle squeezes multi-spectrum sensors, advanced targeting computers, and data enhancement algorithms into a very compact package.

Of course, tradeoffs always exist. The Torno engineers tried to cram so many capabilities into a very small package, that they had to cut some corners. Data buffers in the Ares’ Reticle aren’t as large as in dedicated ship-based sensors, and the long-range scanning isn’t as good as in an orbital telescope. …but, even with these trade-offs, any Rocket Dog will find his ability to discern obstacles and target competitors is greatly enhanced when wearing a pair of these high-tech enhancements.
