Labrador Retriever

One Toba dog trainer, Gratee, was drawn to working with the Labrador Retrievers because of their friendly nature. All the dogs were friendly, of course, but not all of the dogs were friendly all of the time, and to everyone. Pomeranians could be friendly one moment and biting ankles the next. Scottish Terriers are friendly enough … unless they’re chasing a Sheni across fields and under hedgerows, in which case companionship takes a distant second to more immediate concerns.

Labrador Retrievers, though, are friendly to everyone, and have the ability to make friends instantly - even with rivals in the middle of a Rocket Dogs race! Gratee appreciated this, because he’d always found it a bit hard to make friends with other Toba and loved that the Labrador Retrievers would always run up with tails wagging, and he reciprocated this friendship and loyalty to them. Over the following months, the Labs learned many skills from Gratee during their daily sessions (how to use traps, spikes, and strains), and the other Toba trainers suggest that the once standoff-ish Gratee may have learned a bit of friendliness from the Labs!
